Political courage on the part of the global dairy industry is required if progress in world trade liberalisation is to be achieved, said Thomas M Suber, president of the US Dairy Export Council. Speaking at the Dairy 2001 conference in Paris Suber told the international audience that the US dairy industry was eager to move forward in dismantling barriers to international fair trade. "There is general agreement in the US dairy industry that the goal of full liberalisation is worth pursuing but ambivalences exist - particularly in the US and EU - that must be overcome." {{M/E CANNED GOODS }}
