Sir; As part of Food Brokers'celebrations of 40 years of successful brand building, we are running a programme of fund raising events in tribute to my father Desmond Cracknell, who passed away last year at the age of 75. The events will raise funds for two charities that impacted on his life. The first is the Parkinson's Disease Society, representing the illness from which he suffered, and the second is the Animal Health Trust, which is strongly linked to the sport of horse racing, one of his great passions. Assisting us in our fund raising activity will be Gerry Coveney, who was honoured at the recent Caravan Diamond Ball for raising more than £1m over the past 20 years for the grocery industry's leading charity. Gerry has also been diagnosed with the early stages of Parkinson's Disease. Together we hope to raise more than £100,000 for these deserving charities during this anniversary year. Events planned include our 30th annual Food Brokers Golf Day, race meetings at Newmarket, York and Sandown, an anniversary Ball in September, and a sponsored parachute jump for adventurous employees. Many of our major clients and brands have generously agreed to support the fund-raising events and to provide donations or raffle prizes for the nominated charities. Anyone wishing to support the events can contact Caroline Lunn or myself on 02392 222500. Vivienne Cracknell Food Brokers Portsmouth {{LETTERS }}
