Name: Peter Fazal Position: Trade Channel Director ­ Wholesale Company: Petty, Wood The job: Peter Fazal, who heads up Petty, Wood's new wholesale arm, says he plans to "drive sales into cash and carry and delivered wholesale and then on into impulse outside our traditional market". Based in Andover, his first task is to recruit a team of between 10 and 16 national account managers to target underdeveloped sectors of the business. Training is key: he is writing a bespoke sales programme concentrated on category management. His first priority is to extend distribution and sales of key brands and products, including ethnic foods, snacks, drinks and confectionery lines. Fazal said: "We are bringing modern management techniques into the sector and making it more uniform." Background: Fazal has devoted his career to the fmcg sector, including working for Smith Crisps, Kraft and Campbells. He joins Petty, Wood from McCurrach UK where he was a training consultant.
