Tomorrow’s bestsellers are almost certainly in the Next Big Thing, a product arena specially chosen for Expo

The Next Big Thing is a great destination for retailers trying to keep abreast of trends that will give them a taste of the big profit products they will be buying and selling tomorrow.

Expo offers the opportunity to see the potential star food and drink performers and a wide range of thought-provoking products from around the world will be on display in the Next Big Thing area. There, international exhibitors have nominated the products they think are the ones to watch in the UK and show organisers have staged a line-up of food or drinks they believe could merit the title of The Next Big Thing.

Already successful in their national markets, the participating manufacturers believe their products could sell well in the UK market and Expo gives visitors the chance to sample them before they hit the shelves.

Exhibitors include Bomba Energy, a range of four mineral water-based drinks containing caffeine, taurine, guarana and vitamins, which is aimed at consumers between 16 and 35 years old.

Produced by Austrian company Bomba Energia Getrankevertriebs, the drinks come in distinctive grenade-shaped bottles with ring-pull caps which are colour-coded according to flavour.

Also blazing a trail for Austrian energy drinks will be Red Dragon, from the Macro Group Handels, which claims the product’s taste and design has led to success in its domestic market.

Golden Acre Dairy Foods, from Germany, offers visitors the opportunity to experience the Movenpick Gourmet Dessert, while American MarketPlace will show off its American Diner pancake mix.

A list of the nominated products and a detailed map showing where to find them in the exhibition halls will be included in the Food & Drink Expo catalogue, which will be on sale to visitors when they arrive
