Simply Mega is the latest brand to attempt to get a foothold in the highly competitive adult soft drinks category, promoting the products’ added health benefits as a selling point.
Developed by the Food Brands Group, three flavours are being launched this month into Sainsbury and Waitrose in time for the January post-Christmas detoxification and New Year’s resolutions’ craze -
Megaberry, Antioxidant and Detox.
Detox is a blend of fruit juices with added ingredients such as Chlorella, a rich source of chlorophyll, blue green algae and green barley leaf, known for its detoxification properties. Antioxidant contains green tea and grape seed extracts, plus vitamins A, C and E. Megaberry blends cranberries, blueberries and aronia berries and is said to be rich in anthocyanins and flavanoids. All three are non-carbonated and come in 330ml glass bottles (rsp: £1.89).

Procter & Gamble is putting £20m behind the relaunch of its Ariel brand, with TV and press ads running into 2006.
Standard Ariel is renamed New Improved Ariel Biological and Ariel Colour is now Ariel Colour & Style. Ariel Non Bio has become Ariel Sensitive.

Nytol is back on TV for the second time this year as part of a national campaign running until the end of December. The TV ad breaks on Monday (November 7), while a radio campaign includes sponsorship of regional radio stations.

Batchelors Cup a Soup is launching a TV and poster campaign on Friday (November 11) to support its 12 Serving Jar - the UK’s first multiserve instant soup. The TV ad continues the ‘Great Big Hug in a Mug’ campaign.
