Marsh Supermarkets in the US has reported a 28.6% growth in net profit for the 12 weeks to to June 19. Operating profit grew 14.1% compared to the period last year, making this the third quarter in a row to see improved operating income.
Like-for-like sales in supermarkets and c-stores were up 3.2% in the period.
The company recently opened new concept store Arthur’s Fresh Market. The 21,000 sq ft store focuses on a wider range of fresh options.
