Tesco has unveiled a Finest fish range, introducing seven fish and shellfish products to “make it easier than ever” for customers to recreate restaurant dishes at home.
The lines, which launched into 150 stores on Monday, include Tesco Finest Alaskan Sablefish Fillet (rsp: £8/150g), which is also known as black cod and has a “delicate flavour and silky texture”.
The range also includes Norwegian Fjords Halibut Fillet (rsp: £9/200g) and Mediterranean Seabass Fillet (£7.75/180g) both of which have with a “mild” flavour and “firm, flakey texture”.
There are also two salmon lines, which are “slowly raised in a cold Arctic waters for a rich flavour” including Arctic Circle Large Salmon Fillet (rsp: £6/200g) and Arctic Circle Prime Sharing Salmon Fillet (rsp: £14/500g) which is “perfect for wowing guests”.
The two shellfish lines include hand-shucked British King Scallops Roe On (rsp: £10/220g) and ”naturally rich in flavour” Tesco Finest Easy Peel Shell-On King Prawns (rsp: £6.50/200g).
Tesco said the development follows the success of its Finest Steakhouse range – launched in September 2024. Like the Steakhouse range, the fish collection will be boxed in “elevated packaging” and arranged in an “eye-catching display”.
“We know life’s busy, but customers shouldn’t have to miss out on creating luxury dishes at home,” said Tesco meat, fish, poultry, dairy and eggs director Richard Wood. “That’s why our specialist teams have carefully sourced a range of top-quality Finest fish and shellfish products to help customers transform a meal at home into something special.”
