She said: "We have a large portfolio, dealing with 45 different suppliers. We want to concentrate on the larger suppliers, especially brand leaders. We also want to break into new areas more, such as c-stores, forecourts, wine shops and department stores." Muers also said she wanted to expand the company's coverage geographically. "We want to make sure we're dealing with everyone in the UK." She added that she intended to capitalise on the growth of the fine foods market to drive distribution of core brands Filippo Berio Olive Oil and Crespo Olives. Background: Muers began her career in the food industry as a graduate trainee for Mars in 1976. She worked for Courage Brewery and then Tobler-Suchard in national account manager positions. After that, she became a national account controller at RHM's British Bakeries.
