Chupa Chups is launching a sugar-free lollipop which it claims helps protect kids’ teeth.
Cuore di Frutta is an orange-flavoured lolly with a hard shell and chewy centre containing 35% of the RDA of Vitamin C.
It contains Isomalt, an alternative to conventional sugars, which the company said prevents decay and reduces the formation of plaque. The new lollies feature the Happy Tooth logo and have an rsp of 35p.
“Children will always want sweets and with the rising problems with tooth decay, this sweet is the perfect solution,” said Graham Dyer, MD at Chupa Chups Perfetti Van Melle UK.
The launch follows the success last year of Cremosa Chupa Chups lollipops, which are supported by the British Dental Health Foundation.
Foundation chief executive Nigel Carter added: “We strongly recommend that if parents do buy their children sweets, they choose sugar-free alternatives such as Cuore di Frutta.”
