The Today's Group has unveiled a new fascia for independent retailers in Northern Ireland, offering a full package of promotional and merchandising support. The blue and yellow Everyday Value fascia is being presented to selected retail customers of Today's wholesale members in a series of launches across the province in the coming weeks. The concept was developed to give independent retailers an identity in a market that is extremely fascia and brand driven, said Today's Group development director Chris Dale. "Everyday Value basically offers the complete package you would expect from a symbol group. There is a full retail package including promotional support and merchandising units and shelf talkers. "We have also negotiated special rates for business solution packages, scanning, finance packages and IT." All the goods will be delivered by cash & carry members, many of which already have a substantial delivered operation. Newry based Today's member, Savage & Whitten, will be the first company to offer the package to its retail customers, who will be charged a small monthly fee. Participating retailers must also join the Very Important Trader club. The first fascia will be unveiled within six weeks, with Savage & Whitten anticipating a further 20 retailers to sign up in the initial stages. Dale would not speculate on how many retailers he was hoping to attract: "We're not playing the numbers game. If 10 retailers sign up and give 110% support we'll be happy." He did not rule out taking the package onto the mainland, but stressed no decision had been taken yet. "At the moment, we're just concentrating on Northern Ireland." Savage & Whitten sales and marketing director Jim Noble said: "Combined with the strength of the VIT programme, this striking new image will attract a lot of interest in Northern Ireland  not only among our retailers, but also from customers." {{NEWS }}
