Food and Drink Federation president Iain Ferguson has announced a major restructuring of the organisation.

The FDF is to place a sharper focus on three key areas by creating new strategy groups, which will be headed by FDF elected officers.

PepsiCo UK and Ireland president Salman Amin will chair health & wellbeing, General Mills MD Jim Moseley will chair food safety, and Masterfoods MD Fiona Dawson will chair sustainability and competitiveness.

"FDF has always aimed to be the authoritative voice of the industry and the changes will help make it even stronger in that respect. It will ensure it is able to continue to deliver outstanding results for members in ever more challenging circumstances," said Ferguson, chief exec of Tate & Lyle.

Director of Warburtons, Ross Warburton, remains the treasurer and Paul Freeston, chief executive of Apetito, will lead a strengthened SME grouping.
