Scottish football fans may not be able to cheer on their national team at the World Cup, but they can still root for Scottish footballer Jason Scotland thanks to a marketing campaign for Irn-Bru.
Barr Soft Drinks has signed up the Trinidad & Tobago international, who plays for St Johnstone, to front a campaign called Come on Scotland. Breaking north of the border this week, the campaign includes posters and newspaper adverts and culminates with the World Cup match between England and Trinidad & Tobago on 15 June, with an advert dubbed &'England vs Scotland&'.
Senior brand manager Joady Horsley said: &"There was a strong sense of disappointment at Scotland not being in the World Cup so it was a nice spin to have the Scotland name present.&"
The company is also giving away a Porsche as part of a promotion for diet Irn-Bru in July, running a promotion across multipacks to win an Xbox and World Cup game, with another to win activity days in August.
