The select group will be provided with access to specialist wine education and training

Spar has launched a retailer wine club, offering members exclusive deals to boost sales.

Thirty retailers have been selected for the club. They will be provided with access to specialist wine education and training from Spar’s Master of Wine Philippa Carr. They have agreed to stock Spar’s core wine range and in return will benefit from a number of promotions and marketing material, as well as receiving invitations to consumer wine trade shows.

Opportunities to attend all-expenses paid, incentive-driven trips to vineyards around the world will also be available to the select group.

Spar said it would support the retailers via dedicated WhatsApp and Facebook groups and a monthly newsletter.

The Spar Wine Club will re-open for new membership applications in 2020.

Spar brand wine range: own-label showcase

“I am thrilled to be able to support Spar’s wine club,” said Carr. “This is a fantastic opportunity for independent Spar retailers who are serious about increasing their wine sales. Our retailers involved will support the range, commit to national promotions and take part in all our activities. To have so many passionate retailers from Cornwall to Inverness supporting the growth of Spar branded wines is something we are really proud of.”

Barbara Clements, owner of Spar Preston in Dorset said: “I’m thrilled Spar has started a wine club exclusively for retailers. Our first get-together was so much fun. We are all looking forward to learning more about the Spar brand range of wines, growing our sales and having a lot of fun along the way.”
