Unilever is planning to sell its French soft cheese brand Boursin as part of its ongoing efforts to streamline its operations.

Unilever bought Boursin, which employs 150 people, from founder Francois Boursin in 1990. Dairy Crest has been touted as a potential buyer.

“While Boursin is growing successfully, cheese is not a core category for Unilever,” the company said.

Last month, Unilever announced plans to cut 20,000 jobs worldwide in the next four years and make disposals worth E2bn.
