A new range of traditional French yogurts and desserts sold in re-usable ceramic pots is set to be launched in the UK.
The premium-priced range from South of France producer La Fermière comprises five set yogurts - Lemon, Honey, Vanilla, Strawberry and Natural - branded ‘le yaourt’ (rsp: 89p to £1.19 per pot).
There are also three desserts in 110g pots: Crème au Chocolat made with crème fraîche, Panna Cotta with raspberries, and Crème aux Oeufs - a French speciality with crème fraîche and a layer of caramel (99p to £1.29 per pot).
The pot desserts, which are being imported and distributed in the UK by Simple Simon Foods, roll out to Waitrose next week and have already won listings in Selfridges and Whistlestop.
Simple Simon’s Julian Lessons added that the new range would be supported by an in-store sampling campaign in Waitrose.
