The new-look team will double in size in a bid to attract new ‘entrepreneurial’ retailers to the group

Bestway Wholesale has merged the Best-One and Costcutter symbol store support teams as it continues to integrate the two businesses.

The new field-based team will be led by head of symbol fascia Paul Adams and form part of the Bestway Retail team led by Mike Hollis.

The team will also be doubling in size according to the wholesaler in order to facilitate its “ambitious growth plans” and attract “entrepreneurial new retailers” to the group.

Meanwhile a new business and store development team will be run by business development director Jamie Davison.

“Our teams have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to harness the scale, talent and expertise across our newly combined convenience business,” said Hollis.

“Bringing together our teams is an important step in delivering our ambitious growth plans for both Bestway and our retailers. This also paves the way for us to deliver new initiatives for our retailers in the future, and also enables us to extend to all our symbol retailers some of the existing high-calibre support we provide, such as access to our specialist store development team.”

He added: “Providing targeted support that adds real value for retailers is a key element in the breadth of our offer and means we are a genuine force in the market which can now meet the needs of any retailer.”

The restructure is part of the wholesaler’s wider group plans to incorporate CSG following its acquisition in January this year.
