Costco has launched an ecommerce site to broaden its range and offer more premium and big-ticket items.

Most items on Costco.co.uk will be shipped directly from suppliers, with around 5% of lines on the website also available in Costco’s warehouses.

Food lines include a whole suckling piglet for £79.99 and a giant chocolate profiterole cheesecake for £94.99.

Customers can even splash out £4,499.89 for a Masterchef finalist to create a menu for 11 to 20 to be served in their home.

The site will also allow non-members to shop at Costco for a 5% surcharge. Its bricks and mortar warehouses charge an annual membership fee.

“We aim to be complementary to the warehouses, and while published prices are for members only, non-members can now join the treasure hunt,” said Costco ecommerce director Garth Morris.

The site offers free delivery, often the next day, but does not specificy a delivery window.

Costco plans to expand its range organically after measuring which lines sell well, with a focus on gourmet food.
