Famed for its “beautiful façade” and “eye-catching window displays”, Fortnums opened on its current site on Piccadilly in 1707. With tins of biscuits retailing for £15, this isn’t the store to do your weekly shop (although, as the Royal Warrant attests, Fortnum’s is popular with the Queen). And it’s usually chock-full of tourists. But it’s synonymous with quality, and products from this one-of-a-kind outlet are also available in upmarket outlets worldwide.
