R&R Ice Cream has acquired frozen yoghurt brand Yoomoo for an undisclosed sum.
R&R, which partnered with the brand to launch a take-home range rolled out in March last year, said initial plans included a £2m push this year, alongside four new flavours due to hit shelves in March.
“Yoomoo has achieved an impressive rise within the frozen yogurt sector and we look forward to maximising the potential of the brand through using the resource and experience of R&R,” said marketing director Phil Griffin.
Yoomoo, founded by Amanda and Daniel Gestetner in 2011, has generated retail sales through supermarkets of £4m [Nielsen 41w/e 8 December 2012], The pair will continue to operate the chain of Yoomoo yogurt bars across the UK and oversee expansion in the Middle East and Greece under license, said Griffin.
Other brands in the R&R stable include Kelly’s of Cornwall, Fab and Skinny Cow.
