Tesco has taken inspiration from restaurants and street food to revamp its Finest chilled ready meals selection.
Variants based on popular Asian and American dishes have been added, including Teriyaki Pork with Jasmine Rice, Beef Massaman, Lamb Tagine & Couscous, Spicy Pulled Pork with Nachos and Adobo Spiced Chicken Fajitas.
The retailer has also put its Indian Kitchen meals for one into ‘customer friendly’ packaging that allows the main dish to be heated separately from the rice.
The new products enter a buoyant chilled ready meals category up £72.5m in value sales, with own label accounting for £45.1m [Nielsen 52 w/e 13 August 2016].
