Kingsland Drinks looks set to launch a new spirits brand.

The Manchester-based supplier has applied to register the tradmark ‘The Pioneering Spirits Company’ with the Intellectual Property Office.

Kingsland declined to commen when approached by The Grocer.

It comes as Kingsland last month splurged £1.2m on boosting its capacity with a new canning line, allowing it to play in the canned wine market wth production capacity of 80 million cans per year.

Kingsland Drinks MD Ed Baker said the move “taps consumer appetite for a trend we’re confident will continue to gain momentum”.
