Mr Black

Posh coffee liqueur Mr Black has secured a major distribution deal with Sainsbury’s as part of the retailer’s push to develop ‘future brands’.

The 25% abv liqueur, made in batches of just 300 bottles and billed as “a cold brew liqueur for coffee purists” by the Australian brand, will launch into Sainsbury’s next month in 500ml bottles (£22).

The “craft coffee revolution” had “catapulted coffee cocktails to the fore across the UK”, said Tom Elliott, future brands origination and development manager at Sainsbury’s. “It is a bold and engaging brand with a quality product at its core.”

Mr Black has also appointed its first global coffee ambassador, Martin Hudak, who has been tasked with “leading the company’s coffee mixology focus” and “bridging the gap between the coffee and drinks worlds”.
