Danish start-up Winterspring hits UK with frozen dessert

Winterspring Liquorice Ice Cream & Rosehip Flower Raspberry Sorbet with White Chocolate

Danish start-up brand Winterspring is about to make its UK debut with a frozen dessert that promises ‘flavour combinations found only in the Nordic region’.

The premium sharing range comprises a trio of variants, each made up of three pots containing ice cream, sorbet and topping (rsp: £7.99). Two flavours are set for selected Waitrose stores this month: Liquorice Ice Cream & Rosehip Flower Raspberry Sorbet with White Chocolate (290g), and Chocolate Honey Ice Cream and Sea Buckthorn Sorbet with Dark Chocolate (345g).

The lineup is completed by Camomile Vanilla Ice Cream & Apple Sorbet with Pumpkin Seeds (305g).

The offerings “perfectly embody the Nordic approach and philosophy to food”, according to Winterspring’s founder Karina Schmitt Lund, a Copenhagen native who created the desserts to “reflect what the best restaurants have on the menu”.
