Bunlimited hotdog meal kit

Struik hopes the Bunlimited range will replicate the success of “the likes of Mexican and Indian meal kits”

Struik Foods Europe has unveiled the Bunlimited hotdog meal kit, which the Dutch supplier claims is a UK first.

Aimed at tapping the “fast food at home trend”, the ambient NPD comprises four premium hotdogs with 88% pork, crispy onions, mustard and ketchup (rsp: £3.50).

It is rolling out now to 500 Tesco stores, with the aim of replicating the success of “the likes of Mexican and Indian meal kits”. Struik hopes to support the launch with in-store sampling as part of a £500,000 push.

“The Bunlimited range adds a touch of personalisation that you might not find with other products on the market,” said Bryn Scadeng, head of marketing & innovation at Struik.

If follows Struik’s rollout last month into Asda of individual packs of Bunlimited hotdogs, toppings and sauces (rsp: £1.10-£2). The brand was “already showing great potential” according to Scadeng. “Sales in the UK have far exceeded our expectations, and the feedback has been extremely positive from customers.”

The Bunlimited launch marks the start of Struik’s expansion in the UK, with the supplier promising “innovative NPD that will be supported by vibrant, experiential and social activity”.
