McVitie’s limited edition Halloween cake range is set to hit shelves from 5 September.

The ’spook-tacular’ line-up includes two new SKUs: McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Bars in Batty Blackcurrant and McVitie’s Hobnobs Flapjacks in Toffee Apple (rsp: £1/five-pack).

Three more McVitie’s packs have undergone a makeover for the Halloween season. Digestives Teacakes, which launched earlier this year, have a new red pack design and have been temporarily renamed as ’Devilish Teacakes’ (rsp: £2/16-pack).

McVitie’s Penguin Bars will be called ‘Petrified Chocolatey Cake Bars’ with a witch design on the pack (rsp: £1/five-pack), while Batty Blackcurrant is joined by  Jaffa Cakes Bars in Fang-Tastic Orange (rsp: £1/five-pack). The whole range appears in ’horror’ packaging.

“Halloween continues as one of the top three seasonal moments in the retail calendar,” said Clare Hooper, senior brand manager of McVitie’s. “Shareable sweet treats are a key impulse purchase driver within the seasonal market, which presents a fantastic opportunity for retailers to capitalise on, especially in the cake aisle.”
