New recipes include a Cambodian fish curry, two-lentil spiced dal and Cuban pork & black olive stew

Gousto has launched its first gluten-free range in a bid to tap the UK’s £800m free-from market.

From today, the recipe box service will offer a minimum of four gluten-free recipes on its weekly menu of 22 dishes.

New recipes include a Cambodian fish curry, two-lentil spiced dal and Cuban pork & black olive stew.

Gousto said the gluten-free options would “support the whole family eating together” by catering for different dietary requirements.

It is estimated that one in every 100 people in the UK suffers from coeliac disease and many more are intolerant to gluten or choose to eliminate it from their diets for lifestyle reasons. In 2015, Mintel estimated one in five households were avoiding gluten or wheat.

Last year, 78% of UK shoppers bought into the free-from category, which grew 38.5% to over £800m [Kantar Worldpanel].

Gousto founder and CEO Time Boldt said it was a “natural choice” to cater for gluten-free diets.

“We’re always looking for new ways to take the stress out of mealtimes and make home cooking easier for families,” he said. “For us, it’s not enough to listen to customers, it’s about incorporating their feedback to ensure our service provides maximum convenience and ease.”
