GroceryAid has raised £65,000 at its annual Christmas carol concert to provide support for colleagues in the grocery industry over the festive period.

The event, held at St Luke’s Church in Chelsea, was attended by 300 guests, who were entertained by a professional choir and heard readings from industry leaders such as Weetabix MD Sally Abbott, Rob Harris, VP of sales at Coca-Cola European Partners, and Ashwin Prasad, commercial director for packaged foods at Tesco.

A children’s choir and a festive, light-humoured reading from Poldark actor Luke Norris completed the concert.

Rob Harris said: “At this special time of year, it’s important to come together as an industry and support those who are most in need.

“At Coca-Cola, we’re proud to be involved with this wonderful Christmas event, and the many other GroceryAid initiatives that provide help to people and families all year round.”

Following the concert, a champagne and canapé reception was held at the nearby Chelsea Gardener for guests to celebrate the amount raised to provide emotional, practical and financial support to colleagues in crisis.
