A new distribution centre for Ocado is being built in Yorkshire to enable the online retailer to better serve the north.

The development, on a new industrial estate in Birstall known as Springwell 27, will be one of six RDCs all served from Ocado's central hub in Hatfield.

Construction work has begun and the building is due to be completed in August.

MD of the developer, David Brimblecombe of the Gregory Group, said the development would create up to 400 jobs.

Meanwhile Ocado has revamped its website, adding quick links to categories called Fridge, Freezer and Cupboard.
