Farmfoods

Farmfoods retail director Mark Rogers has left the post after four years.

Rogers started at the frozen food retailer as divisional manager in 2014 and progressed to retail operations director before becoming retail director in 2018.

He has previously served as district manager and acquisitions manager at Lidl.

He resigned as a director at Farmfoods on 16 September, according to documents filed at Companies House.

Farmfoods declined to comment.

Farmfoods enjoyed a lockdown-fuelled boost to sales in 2020, and managed to hold on to most of it in 2021. Accounts for the year to 1 January 2022 revealed turnover had dropped back 2.2% to £872.5m but remained 32% up on a two-year basis.

However, 2021 operating profit was down 23% on the previous year to £20.5m, as the business faced increasing cost pressure.

The publicity-shy retailer is controlled by Eric Herd, with his son, George, as managing director.

It has over 300 stores across the UK.
