Divine Chocolate

Divine’s wrapper will also feature stories of women empowered by cocoa co-operatives

Fairtrade supplier Divine Chocolate will launch a limited edition bar celebrating “women’s empowerment” in spring 2017.

Available in stores from February, the 70% dark chocolate bar (rsp: £2.19) will feature an illustration of a female cocoa farmer on front of pack and the UN’s ‘Gender Equality’ icon inside the wrapper.

It is being launched to mark International Women’s Day and as part of Divine’s commitment to empowering women in cocoa farming and “continuing to work towards their equality and prosperity”, Divine said.

The wrapper will also feature eight stories of women empowered by Kuapa Kokoo - a co-operative of cocoa farmers in Ghana that owns 44% of Divine Chocolate and runs education and skills programmes.
