Wells and Young’s has launched the first NPD under the McEwan’s brand since acquiring the brewer in 2011.

McEwan’s Red is aimed at 30 to 50-year-olds and is the first stage of a wider rejuvenation of the brand. It comes in a widgeted 440ml can and will be sold in the off-trade in four and 12 packs, (rsp £4.99 and £12.99).

It goes into Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury’s in Scotland and northern England next month and Tesco in July.
