Muslim customers at Safeway are now able to pick up Halal meat instore.
The retailer launched it’s range of certified lamb and chicken, which it claims is the largest offered by any supermarket in the UK.
The new own-label products, which are authenticated by the Halal Food Authority, will be available in more than 40 stores around the country.
Safeway category manager for fresh meat, Mike Ware, said: “This is an important development for Safeway and we are very proud to be offering an own-brand Halal range to our customers.”
