Having treated us to a piratical adventure for its Oatibix brand last month, Weetabix is back on our screens with another kid-friendly concept: a good old-fashioned cartoon.

The ad tells a familiar story, introducing us to a hungry wolf and three little pigs. The porcine lads join forces to evade his huffing and puffing, confidently high-fiving each other once they’re securely in a solid, brick abode. But… “This house may be built of bricks, but my day starts with Weetabix.” Cue a smart cut to a big-bellied, satisfied wolf, rather gruesomely sucking down a final curly tail.

The juxtaposition of the charmingly old-school animation with the amusingly grim pay-off is sure to appeal to children and grown-ups alike.

A funny story, efficiently and imaginatively told.
