Mars is expanding its Starburst portfolio with two new products  Tropical Chews and limited edition Tropical Joosters  and unveiling new TV ads for Starburst and fellow sugar confectionery brand Skittles. The new products are dual flavoured  four Tropical Chews and five Tropical Joosters. (Rsp: 45g, 27p; 200g bag, 99p.) New packaging aimed at greater product differentiation will be on shelf from May. Support also includes wobblers and dumpbins. Both ads kick off on April 22. The £4.5m Starburst one features the brand's animated lips icon and shows a Starburst-eating woman cheekily moving her car forward just as her husband tries to get in. The £2m Skittles Mints ad is part of the brand's £4.5m budget  its biggest so far. It targets teenagers and 20-somethings, and is set in a small city park with raindrops, dragonflies and rainbows being unleashed by the mints' colours. It will hit national TV first, followed by satellite later in the year. {{MARKETING - P&P }}
