Morrisons is revamping its own-label sausage range, adding 15 new sausages and improving the quality of a further 27 lines.

New products to be added to the range include a Toulouse sausage from Michelin-starred chef Pierre Koffmann, made with pork belly and infused with Sauvignon Blanc; a spiced lamb and mint chipolata; and oak-smoked pork sausages. They will go on sale on 21 May.

“The Toulouse sausage from Pierre Koffmann is a real classic,” said Morrisons executive chef and head of innovation Neil Nugent.

“It originates from the area of France that he comes from and having the stamp of approval from a chef of his stature shows the sort of restaurant quality our customers can get in store.”

Koffmann previously developed a beef bourguignon dish for Morrisons, which was sold as part of the M Kitchen range launched last October.
