The acquisition would help Kestrel Foods ‘continue its growth within the plant-based arena’, it claimed

Plant-based snacks manufacturer Kestrel Foods has acquired vegan and non-HFSS granola brand Just Live a Little, The Grocer can reveal.

The brand – which has listings in Waitrose, Ocado and Tesco NI – will join its existing portfolio to “continue its growth within the plant-based arena”.

Kestrel Foods already owns vegan granola and snacks brand Acti-Snack, along with its flagship dried fruit and nuts brand, Forest Feast, which it claimed had done “extremely well throughout the pandemic”.

The deal would allow it to “offer delicious and healthier crafted products across more categories” and signalled its “ongoing commitment to becoming an innovative leader in the plant-based snacking market”, it said.

Kestrel Foods MD Michael Hall said the acquisition was “aligned to our ambition of creating an innovative snacking and granola business with a strong portfolio of brands, brilliant products, and world-class capability”.

Hall added that he was “delighted to have the opportunity to build on the legacy of the Just Live a Little brand for wholesome artisan granola and snacks”.
