Tyrrells owner Amplify Snack Brands today named Malcolm Burns as its new senior vice president & managing director international.

He took on the role earlier this month, having been promoted from interim international MD - a position he had held since June, following a management shake-up that saw the departure of former Tyrrells CEO David Milner and ops director Stuart Telford.

Burns joined Amplify in early 2017 as head of European finance, bringing extensive experience in leading international consumer packaged goods businesses. He previously worked in a variety of senior strategy and finance director roles in the UK, Eastern Europe and Africa for Cadbury, Kraft Foods, Mondelez and British Sugar. He began his career in accounting and audit roles at Ford Motor Company and Deloitte.

His promotion at Amplify was “well deserved” said the Texas company’s president & chief executive officer Tom Ennis. Amplify had been impressed with the progress Burns and the team have made during the past few months to create and begin executing against a performance improvement plan for the international business.

“His invaluable contributions to the strategic and financial development of our international team, coupled with the strength and depth of his leading consumer packaged goods experience, truly set him apart as we evaluated both internal and external candidates for this position.”
