Coca-Cola European Partners has further boosted its selection of non-core drinks with flavoured water range Oasis Aquashock.

Two zero-calorie variants in a 500ml PET bottle are rolling out now. They offered “a hot or cold hydration experience” CCEP said. Oasis Aquashock Spicy Raspberry is flavoured with “fiery” chilli, while Chilled Cherry contains “cooling” lime. They would appeal to young adult consumers who were “looking for excitement within the flavoured water sector” said CCEP.

Oasis Aquashock arrives on shelf as demand for flavoured water is on the rise, with shoppers increasingly choosing it as a healthier alternative to fizzy pop. Supermarkets shifted an extra 33.5 million litres of flavoured water over the past year, pushing take-home value sales of still and sparkling up 11.1% and 11.9% respectively to a total of £211.9m [Kantar Worldpanel 52 w/e 5 November 2017].

“We’re constantly looking to innovate and respond to consumer demand”, said Simon Harrison, CCEP’s GB customer marketing director. “With over half of Oasis consumers drinking flavoured water, now is the perfect time for us to launch Oasis Aquashock.”

The new range – which comes ahead of a May refresh for the wider Oasis portfolio – is the latest move by CCEP to grow its soft drinks offer outside of its core cola in an effort to offer healthier options. Last month, it unveiled Sprite Lemon Lime & Cucumber No Sugar, while January saw the launch of Fuze low-calorie premium iced tea and dairy-free Adez smoothies.
