Dingle Distillery

The two whiskeys mark “a departure” from Dingle’s previous release, a sherry-based single malt, says the brand

Irish spirit brand Dingle Distillery has launched two limited edition single malt whiskeys.

It has unveiled Batch No 3 Single Malt (46.5%) and Dingle Cask Strength No 3 (59% abv), a sister whiskey. They were “created by the marriage of meticulously selected casks, both bourbon and port” and marked “a departure” from Dingle’s previous release, a sherry-based single malt, said the brand.

The single malt, of which only 600 bottles have been allocated to the UK, gave “a burst of blue and black fruits on the nose” with “a tart, almost jam-like sweetness on the palate”. It has rolled out into specialist and online retailers such as Master of Malt and Harvey Nichols (rsp: £80/70cl).

The Cask Strength whiskey, of which only 500 bottles have been made, showed “the true extent” of the drink, it said, and is available only through specialist retailer Celtic Whisky Shop (rsp: £125/70cl).
