Kopparberg is mixing its fruity flavoured spirits into RTD cocktails ahead of summer.
It has created a trio of flavours: Cherry Storm, Strawberry Cosmo and Lemon Collins.
Each uses one of Kopparberg’s spirits as a base, offering “an exciting, flavourful spin on cocktails already well-known and loved”.
Inspired by the Dark ’n’ Stormy, Cherry Storm combines Kopparberg Cherry rum with lime and ginger beer.
Strawberry Cosmo – Kopparberg’s take on the Cosmopolitan – meanwhile, swaps traditional vodka for its Strawberry & Lime Gin with sparkling cranberry juice.
Finally, Lemon Collins combines the brand’s Lemon Vodka with soda for “an exciting, modern spin” on the traditional gin-based Tom Collins.
The drinks will roll into Morrisons and Asda from 25 April with a wider rollout planned for 27 April (rsp: £2/250ml).
They were “uncompromising on bold flavour and ideal both at home or on the move”, said Kopparberg.
Kopparberg head of marketing Rob Salvesen added: “We felt it was a natural extension for the brand to reach into the growing and exciting ready-to-serve category but wanted to add something different to the category with our modern take on classic cocktails”.
The “refreshing and accessible” flavour profile of the drinks meant they were poised to bring “even more shoppers to this exciting, growing category”, he said.
The launch is the latest in a series of range extensions from the cidermaker, which added a trio of flavoured vodkas last year (having already played in rum and gin for some time).
Last summer, it expanded its hard seltzer range with a new strawberry flavour. And in January, it added an alcohol-free version of its Mixed Fruit Tropical flavour cider.
