The treats will roll into Asda and Holland & Barrett next month (rsp: £1.69/2x14g)

LoveRaw is launching a vegan contender to Ferrero Rocher.

Called Nutty Choc Balls, the treats contain whole hazelnuts dipped in vegan hazelnut ‘cream’ and coated in plant-based ‘milk’ chocolate and hazelnut pieces.

The treats – which contained no palm oil or artificial ingredients – were made using a new recipe, which ensured a flavour and texture closer to traditional chocolate, said LoveRaw.

Packs of two will roll into Asda and Holland & Barrett next month (rsp: £1.69/2x14g).

LoveRaw co-founder Manav Thapar said the NPD was “unlike anything else on the market”.

People leading a vegan or plant-based diet had “typically been underserved by confectionery brands”, so LoveRaw was “leading the charge to bring innovation, choice and quality to the category”, Thapar added.

The vegan confectioner has spent recent months making concerted efforts to expand into new formats.

Earlier this year, it launched a trio of chocolate bars and expanded its Peanut Butter Cup range with two new milk and white chocolate flavours.
