The power bars offer 15g plant-based protein

Trek is boosting its range of plant-based protein bars with the launch of Trek Power.

The new Power range had been designed to appeal to shoppers with busy and active lifestyles, seeking a healthier, vegan protein alternative with no artificial sweeteners, said Trek.

The range comprises two 55g bars – Peanut Butter Crunch and Millionaire Shortbread – each offering 15g protein.

Trek senior brand manager Georgina Crook said Trek had identified “a real opportunity to fill a gap in the sports nutrition market” as there wasn’t a bar in the top 50 of the category that provided plant-based protein with no artificial sweeteners.

The duo will hit Tesco and Sainsbury’s this month (rsp: £1.75/55g).

Trek has also added two new flavours to its flapjack portfolio, following the launch of its Salted Caramel flavour earlier this year.

Two new flavours – White Choc & Raspberry and Smooth Lemon – will join the lineup, each offering 9g plant-based protein per 50g bar.

Similarly to the Power range, the flapjacks contain no artificial sweeteners or refined sugars, providing shoppers with a “healthier snacking option”, said Trek.

They will hit Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Amazon this month (rsp: £2.50/3x50g).
