Real has unveiled a brand refresh and tweaked the formulations of its alcohol-free drinks.
The supplier – previously known as The Real Drinks Co – has updated its packaging and incorporated grape skin into the recipes of its sparkling tea-based beverages.
The recipe tweak would enhance the “complexity of each liquid, deepening the wine-like qualities that have become synonymous with the brand’s approach to craft”, said Real.
The new packaging, meanwhile, featured “bold brushstrokes and a refined, contemporary aesthetic” to reflect “the complexity and vibrancy of each liquid”, it added.
The brand’s updated lineup comprises Real Sec – made from darjeeling loose-leaf tea and mimicking the profile of a sparkling white wine, Real Sec – made using pan-fired dragonwell green tea and grape skin, and Real Blush – a fermented blend of white peony loose leaf tea and red grape skin that apes a sparkling rosé.
“We’ve always been unconventional and uncompromising in our approach, and our brand relaunch is another example and reflection of our commitment to innovation, craft, and quality” said Real founder and CEO David Begg. “By introducing grape skin to our premium range, we’ve deepened the wine-like quality of our beverages, offering a great-tasting alcohol-free choice for modern wine drinkers.”
The move comes after Real debuted a small-batch collection targeting wine drinkers in November. Real Brut and Real Noir were designed to elevate non-alcoholic offerings within the fine dining and hospitality sectors, and carried rsps of £25 per 75cl bottle.
Real’s premium range is listed in Sainsbury’s and Waitrose, with prices starting at £8 per 75cl bottle, however.
All Real’s drinks are produced at its dedicated production site near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, which opened in 2022.
