Allwyn has expanded its partnership with Snappy Shopper to offer scratchcards online from 172 retailers.
The new initiative has already generated £150,000 in sales for retailers who have continued to join a small-scale trial since last summer.
Prospective retailers interested in selling scratchcards via Snappy Shopper must meet a certain criteria, Allwyn added.
These include using own staff members as opposed to third-party drivers for home deliveries, and being up to date with the necessary National Lottery retail safeguarding training.
The initiative’s expansion comes as Allwyn introduced a 10-scratchcard per transaction limit in October as it aims to promote responsible play both in stores and online. The limit is built in to the buying process on the Snappy Shopper platform.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the growing number of National Lottery retailers signing up to sell scratchcards online with Snappy Shopper,” said Allwyn director of commercial partnerships and retail sales Alison Acquaye-Acford.
“Over 170 retailers now signed up and selling is a huge milestone and good news for good causes and retailers themselves. By integrating National Lottery scratchcards into the platform, local retailers are unlocking new revenue streams while enhancing their digital offerings to meet evolving consumer habits.”
Snappy Shopper CEO Mike Callachan added: “We are thrilled to see 172 of our partner stores benefiting from this initiative, which has already generated significant sales.
“The demand proves that customers want seamless access to National Lottery products from their trusted local stores.
“At Snappy Shopper, we are committed to championing independent retailers, helping them thrive in an increasingly digital marketplace while continuing to serve their communities.”
