Applied Nutrition has appointed Sophie Pugh as chief marketing officer.
Pugh joined the business last month from The Hut Group, where she spent nine years within the nutrition division, most recently serving as managing director of performance & wellness.
During her time at THG, Pugh led the global product marketing strategy and delivered “high-impact, cross-functional initiatives” across its sports nutrition and wellness brands, including Myprotein and Myvitamins.
Pugh had “extensive experience” in the sports nutrition, health and wellness market and would lead Applied Nutrition’s marketing vision and strategy, deepening brand connection and accelerating growth, it said.
Pugh’s strategic leadership and industry expertise would play a key role in driving the company’s next phase of growth and strengthening its position as a global leader in sports nutrition, it added.
“We’re really excited to have Sophie join the team as our new chief marketing officer,” said Applied Nutrition CEO Thomas Ryder.
“She brings a wealth of experience in brand building across our industry, and we’re looking forward to seeing her drive our marketing strategy, support the global expansion of the business, and connect even more with our consumers, customers and distributors.”
Pugh added: “I’m delighted to be joining Applied Nutrition at such an exciting time for the brand.
“The energy, ambition, and innovation within the business are truly inspiring, and I’m looking forward to building on that momentum, driving global growth and strengthening our connection with consumers around the world.”
