Cawston Press has entered the flavoured sparkling water category.
The soft drinks brand has launched slimline cans in Squeezed Lime and Pressed Watermelon via Ocado, Amazon, wholesalers and DTC (rsp: £5.25/4x330ml).
The new cans contained real pressed fruit and no added sugar, sweeteners or fruit juice concentrates, thereby staying true to the brand’s “no jiggery pokery” promise, according to the supplier.
Squeezed Lime offered a “crisp, zesty hit of squeezed lime”, while Pressed Watermelon was made with “real pressed watermelon juice and a squeeze of lemon”.
Both were “ideal for shoppers seeking a more premium alternative to standard sparkling water”.
“Sparkling water is a growing category, but we saw a clear opportunity to do things differently,” said Cawston Press MD Steve Kearns. “Consumers want great-tasting clean ingredients even when they’re choosing flavoured sparkling water.
“Using real pressed fruit, we’ve created a sparkling water that delivers genuine full-on fruit flavour without adding anything unnecessary.
“For retailers, we’re offering a premium option that stands out on shelf and speaks directly to today’s health-conscious shopper.”
It comes after Cawston Press expanded into the rapidly growing low & no-alcohol category with the acquisition of Loah for an undisclosed sum last week.
