Alcohol-free beer brand Days has tweaked the recipe for its 0.0% lager.
The improved Days Lager has rolled into Waitrose stores (rsp: £5.50/4x330ml).
It is brewed in the UK using German hops and yeast before undergoing a long maturation. The beer is then dealcoholised via a reverse osmosis process at a low temperature to maintain flavour and aroma.
The result was “the beer we’ve always dreamed of making”, said Days co-founder Duncan Keith.
“Using four years of consumer insight, coupled with learnings from our thousands of retail distribution partners across the UK we set out to redevelop our lager recipe with the idea ‘if we were starting Days today, what would we brew?’”, said Keith.
“As the category’s reach began to grow, we knew we wanted to redevelop our lager to have broader flavour appeal,” he continued. “At the same time, technology has improved, and dealcoholisation tech is now available to us that simply wasn’t four years ago.
“We’re incredibly excited to be launching our groundbreaking new Lager. It is clean, crisp, and indistinguishable from a full-strength beer. It’s also one of the healthiest beers on the market – low in carbs, sugar, and calories and 0.0% abv.”
Days Brewing was founded by Keith and Mike Gammel in 2020 and is stocked in retailers including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose and Ocado.
