Forresters founder and chairman Alan Dilliway-Parry has died at the age of 90.

The chicken business was founded by Dilliway-Parry in 1972, initially specialising in the production of raw chicken portions supplying local butchers and catering outlets.

The business has evolved since then and moved into cooking, supplying both manufacturers and foodservice businesses as well as pub chains, before moving into retail.

It is now a £100m turnover legacy business that employs nearly 400 staff.

Dilliway-Parry has left behind a wife and three grown-up children – two of whom work at Forresters and sit on the board.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at 1.30pm at St Helen’s Church, Tarporley, Cheshire on 24 September.
