Futura Foods has appointed former Pilgrim’s Europe director Guy Wootton as its MD.

Wootton will lead the Nordex Food-owned business, whose brands include Yamas and Param, across retail, foodservice and manufacturing.

He joins from Pilgrim’s, where he has worked since 2013 when he joined as director of category and insight for Moy Park.

He later became group marketing and strategy director in 2024, where he was responsible for brand, category, customer marketing, research and insight across the group, as well as its Rollover and Oakhouse Foods divisions.

Wootton said he was excited to be joining Futura Foods “at such an exciting stage in its journey”.

“The business has an exceptional platform for growth, built on trusted customer relationships, marked-leading expertise and a talented team,” he added. “I look forward to building on those foundations, accelerating sustainable growth and continuing to strengthen our partnerships with customers, suppliers and colleagues as we write the next chapter together.”

Wootton succeeds Hans Christiansen, who led Futura Foods for almost a decade and helped to grow its turnover from £38m to £142m. He is moving over to lead sister business Tok Food.

Wootton congratulated Christiansen on the “outstanding business he and the team have built over the past decade and wish him every success on his new role”.

Christiansen said that he was “delighted to be handing the business over to Guy”.

“He brings a wealth of experience, strong commercial leadership and a genuine passion for building brands and businesses,” he added.

“I have every confidence that, together with the fantastic team at Futura Foods, he will lead the business successfully through its next exciting phase of growth.”
