Match said it offered ‘the natural next step for shoppers who want something bolder’

Match – a new tonic water claiming to be “the first genuinely new premium tonic to enter UK grocery since Fever-Tree” – has secured a listing with Waitrose.

Match Tonic Water’s Indian and Mediterranean SKUs will land nationwide with the retailer from mid-October (rsp: £8.99/4x200ml).

Indian was made with juniper and lemongrass and “crafted to upgrade your favourite G&T”, Match said.

Meanwhile, Mediterranean contained “rounded notes of sage, rosemary, and basil” and was “the optimum mixer for your favourite gins and vodkas”.

The duo would offer “the next step for shoppers seeking bolder, more modern and more premium mixers”, according to the brand.

“This listing with Waitrose is a major moment for Match in the UK,” said Mats Olsson. “It signals both the trust of a leading retailer and the appetite from consumers for a new generation of premium tonics that go beyond what’s been available for the last two decades.

“Match has already established itself across Europe, with listings in markets like Norway, Sweden, Spain, Germany, France and Italy,” Olsson continued. “In each case we’ve seen strong uplift in the premium mixer category and incremental growth for retailers.”

Match’s wider range also includes a “bold” Spicy tonic and a “delicate” Floral variant, both of which are currently available on Amazon (rsp: £9/4x200ml).
